DrumUp – Content Recommendation and Social Sharing Tool
Ed: DrumUp finds content for you to share via your social networks, which puts it partly in competition with Buffer (Im a paying Buffer user and I highly recommend it).
Content curation and commentary is the new SEO as a means of attracting an interested group of followers, it engages followers in a way that is hard to get from SEO and decreases reliance on Google for driving visitors and engagement.
It appears to do a better job on mobile than Buffer and a better job of finding and presenting content but its not as slick on the content sharing side, Buffer offers a Chrome Plugin which lets me share to as many social network accounts as I like with one click with my added commentary.
What they guys have done is not trivial they have worked out how to crawl many sites and used machine learning to classify the stories (this part is very difficult to get right) and present this in a Web and App UI.
|What problem are you solving?||Discovering relevant content daily to stay on top of your industry, and curating it for an active social media presence is a time consuming and frustrating chore for businesses and professionals. Searching for content requires browsing through a number of publications and sometimes tens of customized searches on search engines, which can take hours at end – but the fact is very few of us have such luxury of time!|
|What is your solution?||DrumUp solves this problem by applying artificial intelligence and natural language processing algorithms to the huge amount of content being generated online every day, and then matching the content with a user’s preferences. The result of these complex background processes is a daily digest of recommended stories, customized for every user. The stories are displayed in the app in a neat, linear format for easy browsing and scheduling for social media outlets.|
