Love this slide from Dave McClure as to the Minimum Viable Team to build a web business. I have met a lot of start-ups with Biziods but no hackers who want to outsource all their development to India (including myself numerous time), but if you think you are going to build a web app from these guys you are probably kidding yourself, I have tried to build a Real Estate Search Engine, a Mortgage Comparison App and a Video Advertising Platform, it sort of works but not really and you never quite get what you want.

My experience, see if you can find yourself the missing Minimum Viable Team.

Not all shareholders and founders are created equal or necessarily should be, sometimes co-founders don’t feel the same need to be equal shareholders that you might, they could be minority shareholders and as a tradeoff get a small salary when the other founders are eating noodles and sleeping on couches. Not everyone is motivated by the big exit, some just want to do something cool and be involved in the ownership an equal portion of equity may not be that important.

What I’m trying to say is that you may not need to give up an equal equity portion to get the missing Minimum Viable Team member on board.
