KoalaSafe – Personal Firewall for the Home

Ed: This is a brilliant idea, a single hardware device that gives one point of control for the home network to allow parents to centrally control network access to Apps and websites across different devices and device types.

What problem are you solving?	The lack of parenting tools for managing internet-connected devices. Kids get obsessed with games like Minecraft, they stumble across content that’s inappropriate and parents have no idea what’s going on. It’s important because it’s a health issue and a huge part of all kids lives now.
What is your solution?	A box in the home that creates a new wireless network for kids. It offers parents time-limits, parental insights, app & site blocking – across all devices in the home. No per-device config required.
Why is this a great opportunity?	The market is massive. 38 million broadband connected homes in America with children. Spend any time around parents at a bbq and they’ll all complain about how much time their kids spend online, or that they can’t keep on top of what their kids are doing online.
Target Market	Families with broadband internet and children 4-17. Typically this is a mother or grandmother, aged 24-55.
