Elevator Pitch: Ambulation and mobility training has been proven to reduce a sedentary lifestyle, increase blood flow to lower limbs, delay the onset of medical ailments, decrease fear of falling, and increase freedom and quality of life. Training by healthcare professionals is not always safe and efficient. To perform training safely it takes two to three healthcare professionals and involves coordinated lifting and movement of wheelchair and walker. The time, energy, and most challenging funding requirements mean most patients only receive training once to twice a week. This is simply not enough exercise to reverse blood flow, extend the muscles, and decrease medical ailment onset creating new medical issues for patients. In addition, therapists are often left with trying to do transfers and ambulation training on their own which can result in workplace injuries.

To solve this problem we created the A.R.M.M. a dynamic structure that attaches an individual’s wheelchair directly to their walker. It is a patent-approved (US 15/414,012; CA 2,955,888) device that provides lateral and posterior support to an individual that is transferring from a wheelchair to a walker while providing a safe support system for the patient when walking. The universal design can easily attach any wheelchair to any walker by the patient or therapist. The A.R.M.M. device decreases the number of healthcare professionals required to just one professional, compared to the traditional method requiring two to three individuals to perform patient training. While this innovation is incrementally improving upon current mobility aids, it is also disrupting the rehabilitation industry by increasing efficiency and reducing the overall costs of therapeutic programs. BISEP has positioned its product as a device that offers great value to the patient, healthcare institutions, and payers.
