Elevator Pitch: The story of ‘Dezy It’ is very closely linked with the story of my entrepreneurial career. I started off Avian Design, an offshore UX/UI service agency with a couple of friends while we were in college which grew to be a leading design agency with a global clientele specialising in Design Sprints by Google Ventures.

Being a designer who was trying to learn entrepreneurship. I attended a lot of workshops and events across the globe to learn more about entrepreneurship, the startup ecosystem and building successful ventures. One of my key observations was the importance given to design in all of these forums, coming from a design education and being a practising professional it was very easy to consume the knowledge being imparted about design in these forums and I could see the rest of the learners and fellow entrepreneurs also understanding the importance of design, all of these talks would focus on ‘Why?’ Why is Design important? Why should you keep your users in the centre of your innovation? Why there should be design thinking incorporated from Day 1?

BUT

No one talked about the how? How do I start incorporating design processes in my team? What’s step one? That’s where the whole idea came from – a lot of software companies have identified ‘Design’ as a key aspect of their success, but don’t have great processes to mobilise design in their product teams.

We built Dezy It, a DIY Design Sprint Toolkit created to help product teams, entrepreneurs and startup founders incorporate design thinking in their product journeys.
