GradLancer – Freelancer for Grads

Ed: I’m all for University students launching their first startup, its good to get some runs on the board and learn some lessons for when you hit the real world.

This is a very slick site and jobs are one of the real revenue drivers of the web, but it’s certainly not unique.

There is an old saying that “when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail”.

This is a common thing I see with University students many of the business pitches are very focused on their own predictable problems as students, which are interesting to them but not to the rest of the world.

I saw this idea pitched at least twice in the last year, in their defence at least the founders have performed a great execution, I hope they can carve out a niche in what is a competitive market.

Tell us about the market & founders, why is this a great opportunity? My name is Jay Gujral and I am the the Director & Co-founder of Gradlancer.co.uk. I believe that the story behind Gradlancer’s inception as well as the site itself is a great story and one that we want to tell. We are three recent university graduates from the UK.Gradlancer started within 3 months of graduation having secured funding from private investors.
