What problem are you solving? | People can\’t see what others type while they\’re typing, hence it makes it difficult to get time-sensitive information (imagine exam answers or something). |
What is your solution? | We show typing process letter by letter! This is closer to live conversation than ever – awkward situations and passionate discussions create new user behaviour. We all know that feeling, when you are staring at the “Adam is typing…” bubble just to get the one-word answer. With Hiboo you do not even need to send the message – the recipient will see what you write instantly, letter by letter. |
Target Market | They are 15-25 years old, they use other messengers, and they are open to new ways of communication. As with Snapchat, people create their own use cases, which are not necessarily thought of initially. Hiboo is not to talk to your boss, obviously. Our goal is that special user experience full of fun. |
How will you make money? | We have many monetisation ideas, but at the moment we are more concerned about the user base growth. |
Tell us about the market & founders, why is this a great opportunity? | We already share our happiness with the friends in social networks, so why not to be happy together? We are always connected, but nevertheless feel lonely – all the existing services can’t provide the feelings you get from live communication. Messengers on the market still make us wait, is it different to writing the letters then? We want to “feel” the conversation. Remember the growth of Meerkat and Periscope? Live – is a big trend of this year. Use cases? Tinder-Hiboo scenario is a perfect use case for someone who wants to take the boring WhatsApp texting to faster escalation. You can finally flirt the same way you do it in real life – with no option to ctrl+z. Or sharing time-sensitive news – stock prices, football scores, ticket sales, cover of an Apple event – we compete both with Twitter (it’s faster than scrolling your news feed) and other messengers (it’s faster than any). B2B: bots for customer support; API\’s for corporate chats (Slack etc.) – much easier to solve the problem within the text if you can notice a mistake before your colleague finished the whole paragraph. And it’s just convenient. As trivial as deciding where to go for a lunch with your friend – you communicate at the speed of thought. |
