Great idea, we might be geographically close but most Australian’s have no idea how far our Asian neighbours are sprinting ahead of us (especially China), any program that will help close that gap is a great thing. Might be a good idea to include Hong Kong and Shenzhen on the program.

What problem are you solving? Asia Recon is a program set up to help foster, develop, and build Australia’s engagement across the technology, innovation and entrepreneurial sector within Asia by promoting the transfer of people, ideas and capital.
We are trying to solve Australia’s problem with Asia Engagement for Australian startups, investors and other ecosystem contributors.
What is your solution? Asia Recon takes groups of Australian technology and business entrepreneurs on tours to Asia to establish business and strategic relationships with Asian entrepreneurs, funders and their advisers.
Target Market Australian entrepreneurs, funders and their advisers
How will you make money? Engagement programs, events, publications, advisory services
Tell us about the market & founders, why is this a great opportunity? In 2012, there were 4.3 billion people living in the Asia region, which is equal to 60 per cent of the global total of 7.1 billion people.Available venture capital in these markets is approximately 3-6 larger than that currently available in Australia. And finally, putting aside the size of the market, more pragmatically, there are a lot of problems in Asia which Australian innovation could help solve.
