Currently customers are paying more than $1k up-front and handling all of their own logistics. We allow members to get started for less than $89. Our members receive an annual eye exam with any optometrist in the U.S., a contact lens fitting, and an annual supply of contact lenses delivered regularly via our subscription box. Our member plan pricing ranges from $39 to $89 per month and we handle all of their billing, logistics, and other details. |
The market is relatively new and growing quickly. There are currently 38 million soft contact lens wearers in the U.S. spending over $12 billion dollars on vision care each year. As of April 2015, 24% of those people were already wearing 1-day disposable contacts. Ten percent of the total market upgraded to 1-day contacts in the past 18-months, and that rate continues to increase. In Europe 35% of users wear this product, and Asia is at 55% of the market.
